On the 29th night of Ramadan, over 4.1 million worshipers and Umrah performers converged at Masjid al-Haram, setting a new record for the highest attendance at the Grand Mosque—surpassing even Hajj figures—with more than 4 million joining in the Khatam Al Quran during Taraweeh prayers.

Sheikh Sudais announces from the mihrab of Masjid Al Haram that Khatam Al Quran will be held during Taraweeh prayers on the 29th night of Ramadan, corresponding to the evening of 28 March 2025, at both the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.

To ease congestion at Masjid al-Haram during Ramadan, the Ministry has announced that visitors will be allowed to perform only one Umrah during the last ten days.
