Sheikh Salah Al Budair, the esteemed Imam and Khateeb of Masjid An Nabawi in Medina, has arrived in the Maldives for an official visit.
Sheikh Saleh had a meeting today with the Maldives President, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, at the Presidential Palace in Malé, the capital city of the Maldives.
He also visited the Friday Mosque in Malé. This mosque is one of the city’s oldest and most beautifully decorated, with a strong connection to Arab-Islamic heritage.
During his visit to the Maldives, Sheikh Salah also had a meeting with members of the Supreme Council for Fatwa and the Minister of Islamic Affairs of the Maldives, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.

During his visit to the Maldives, Sheikh Salah also met with Sheikh Dr. Ismail Mohamed, who is the initial scholar from the Maldives to have graduated from the Islamic University in Madinah.
Thousands of Maldivian worshipers are anticipated to attend Sheikh Al Budair’s public appearances, with special security and crowd management measures being implemented at event venues. The visit strengthens the longstanding religious and cultural ties between Saudi Arabia and the Maldives.
His Eminence also led the Friday prayer in Malé, the capital of the Maldives.
Sheikh Salah was welcomed by His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Shaheem, the Maldivian Minister of Islamic Affairs, Mr. Fahd Al-Dosari, the Acting Chargé d’Affaires at the Saudi Embassy, and several other officials.
Sheikh Budair led Friday prayers at Sultan Muhammad Thakurufaanu Mosque in Maldives.
