In an exciting development, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Tourism has made it possible for citizens of Azerbaijan, Albania, Uzbekistan, South Africa, Georgia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and the Maldives to apply for Umrah e-visas.
This is in line with the Saudi Vision 2030 goals of economic growth and stronger global connections.
Through e-tourist visas, Saudi Arabia aims to boost its economy and promote cultural understanding, with the goal of increasing the tourism sector’s contribution to GDP from 3% to an impressive 10%.
This initiative, which is at the heart of Saudi Vision 2030, is expected to create more than one million jobs that will primarily benefit Saudi citizens. Saudi Arabia also aims to attract 100 million tourists by 2030, establishing itself as a global tourism hub.
The Umrah e-visa allows exploration of various Saudi regions and participation in the revered Umrah pilgrimage, except during the Hajj season.
The Ministry emphasizes adherence to local regulations, carrying valid identification, and ensuring a harmonious experience for visitors and locals.
The expansion of the Umrah e-visa program demonstrates Saudi Arabia’s commitment to global connectivity and economic growth, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
The tourist visa program, which was initially launched on September 27, 2019 for citizens of 49 countries, now covers citizens of 57 countries, including the eight new countries.
In addition, the Ministry recently extended the eligibility of tourist visas to all GCC residents, encouraging the exploration of Saudi attractions and cultural heritage.
To enhance Saudi Arabia’s global influence and tourism infrastructure, the Ministry has plans to expand the e-visa system to more countries.
Saudi Arabia’s inclusion of citizens from Azerbaijan, Albania, Uzbekistan, South Africa, Georgia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and the Maldives in the Umrah e-visa program reflects its commitment to international cooperation, cultural exchange, and economic growth as outlined in Saudi Vision 2030.
This move positions Saudi Arabia as a welcoming destination for diverse travelers seeking enriching experiences and spiritual exploration in its captivating environment.
