dUA TO RECITE FOR SEEING RAMADAN MOON

The dua to recite when seeing the Ramadan moon is mentioned in Jami’ at-Tirmidhi (Hadith 3451, Vol. 6, Book 45). It is a supplication that asks Allah to bless the new month with goodness, faith, safety, and Islam.

The dua is as follows:

اللَّهُمَّ أَهْلِلْهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالْيُمْنِ وَالإِيمَانِ وَالسَّلاَمَةِ وَالإِسْلاَمِ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكَ اللَّهُ

Allāhumma ahlilhu `alainā bil-yumni wal-Īmān, was-salāmati wal-Islām, rabbī wa rabbuk Allāh.

O Allah, bring it over us with blessing and faith, and security and Islam. My Lord and your Lord is Allah.
