Despite Insults Against Prophet Muhammad, UAE Form New Bloc With India, Israel and US

Even though the other Gulf countries are boycotting Indian products and their ties with India, UAE is set to form a new I2U2 bloc with India, Israel, and the US.

In the wake of US President Joe Biden’s recent trip to West Asia, a new alliance will be formed between the US, India, Israel, and the UAE, according to The Islamic Information correspondent, Haniya, which cited international media.

Discussions will include food security, climate change, and other topics.

What is I2U2 Bloc?

I2U2 stands for “I” for India and Israel and “U” for the United States and the United Arab Emirates. The four nations will discuss various issues, including food security, at a virtual conference.

According to Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby, the leaders of the alliance referred to as the West Asia Quad will discuss the global food crisis, climate change, oil production, and the Yemen war.

National News quoted a White House official at a press briefing saying that the president will hold a virtual summit with the I2U2 heads of state to discuss the food security crisis and other areas of cooperation across hemispheres.

These initiatives are central to our strategy of providing partners with more power and enabling them to work more closely together, which will lead to a more stable region, the official explained.

In addition, US State Department Spokesperson Ned Price said that India is a big consumer market and a manufacturer of modern technology devices and products. Among the areas in which the countries in the bloc can cooperate are technology, business, climate change, and security.

In October last year, I2U2 was formed following the Abraham Accords between Israel and the UAE to address the region’s maritime security, infrastructure, and transport issues.
