MAKKAH (Saudi Arabia): Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia has announced the Hajj 2022 quota. Pakistan, India, Indonesia, and Bangladesh get the largest portion of the quota.

Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, minister of religious affairs, has announced that the Indonesian pilgrim quota for the 2022 Hajj implementation has been set at 100,051.

On June 4, 2022, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, a representative of Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, announced that the first batch of Hajj pilgrims would depart.

Yandri Susanto, the chairperson of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives (DPR), previously stated the government of Saudi Arabia has allocated the highest amount of Hajj quotas to Indonesia in 2022, which is only about 48 percent of this year’s quota.

After allowing one million people to perform the holy pilgrimage this year, Saudi Arabia has given Pakistan its second-highest quota of pilgrims.

Ministry officials said that the Kingdom is focused on ensuring that as many Muslims as possible can perform Hajj and visit the Prophet’s Mosque in a safe and spiritual atmosphere.

Some 1 lakh pilgrims had applied to the Haj Committee of India until Feb 15, 2022. Due to the fact that the country has a quota of 79,237 pilgrims, the final list will be prepared with the help of the draw (also known as the Haj Qurrah). At various state headquarters, different states conduct the Haj Qurrah.

Md Faridul Haque Khan, the state minister for religious affairs, said this year that 57,856 pilgrims from Bangladesh would be able to perform the hajj after a two-year gap due to restrictions imposed by Covid-19.

In 2020 and 2021, no pilgrims from Bangladesh were permitted to travel to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia due to the pandemic.

Saudi Arabia had announced earlier that foreign pilgrims would be allowed to participate in the Hajj in 2022.

Pilgrims must be 65 years of age or older and have received a full dose of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by the Saudi Ministry of Health.

Pilgrims coming from abroad must submit a certificate demonstrating a negative PCR result no later than 72 hours before departure.
