Reward a Mother Gets After Miscarriage in Islam

One of the greatest pains a human being can experience is losing someone they love. The pain can be even more excruciating for a mother who has lost her child in a miscarriage.

Imagine how painful it must be for a mother to feel when she has to lose her baby even though before she had longed for a child to complete her family, continue her offspring, and worship Allah SWT.

Although miscarriage is considered a taboo topic to discuss in many cultures, often even considered embarrassing. But actually, Islam teaches us about miscarriage openly and beautifully.

Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala gives us the best example to follow when faced with a situation like this.

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW lost his son Ibrahim, who passed away as soon as he was born. Even though the death of his son very saddened him, our Prophet remained strong and believed that Allah knew that he was strong enough to face this ordeal.

Indeed, we humans can only plan as well as possible, but Allah subḥānahu wa ta’āla is the best planners.

Dealing with miscarriage can be a very difficult and lonely journey a mother has to go through. However, you have to keep believing that it is a test from Allah SWT, a test that is indeed very big. Allah will never be wrong to give tests and trials to His servant.

As stated in the Holy Quran:

“Allah does not burden a soul beyond his capacity”

(Quran 2:286)

In addition, mothers who have lost their children need not worry about what happened to their babies after they died. Allah SWT will place children who die under the best care with Prophet Ibrahim AS.

Children who die in a state of fitrah, even the children of the mushrikeen, will be placed in a very beautiful garden in heaven with the Prophet Ibraham.

And lastly, the good news for parents who lost their child in a miscarriage is to hope and pray to be reunited with your child in Jannah Insha Allah.

As narrated by several hadiths, that the children of Paradise will take hold of their parents’ garment or hand and will not let go until Allah admit them and their parents to heaven.

    • Aslm..I think you asking if you miscarry before 4 months or maybe at 8 weeks..does the baby still go to Jannah as per hadith regarding a fetus after 4 months? I am curious to know as well.

    • As to my knowledge, the baby will enter Jannah even if its a single clot.
I have had 3 misscarriages and also my son of 18 days died.
I am left with a daughter Alhamdulillah and another son who has cereal palsy.
This is all a test, may Allah be pleased with us all.

      • Alhamdulliah you are loved one to be test so hard ...Allah bless your children with good health and fortune and make them of good conduct.

    • In Islam, it is believed that if a fetus does not have a heartbeat after three months of pregnancy, then the baby will go to Jannah (paradise). This understanding is derived from various hadiths and interpretations of Islamic scholars. The reasoning behind this belief is that the loss of a child through miscarriage is considered a test for the parents, and the child will be granted a place in paradise as a result of this trial.

It is important to note that this belief offers solace and comfort to those who have experienced the painful loss of a child. It provides a sense of hope and reassurance that their baby will be in a better place, regardless of the duration of the pregnancy.

However, it is crucial to remember that matters of the afterlife are ultimately known only to Allah. While these beliefs offer consolation, it is not for us to definitively state who will or will not enter paradise. Our understanding is limited, and the final judgment rests with Allah alone. Therefore, it is best to focus on seeking comfort in our faith and trusting in Allah's wisdom and mercy during times of loss and hardship.

      • I miscarried but I think it was my fault. I had the urge to push for a few days I tried getting medical help but wasn't taking seriously. The pain in my stomach was getting worser. One day I decided to go to the toilet and push I realised I messed up when I had seen what I pushed. I wish I could hold on longer but my other children were being neglected due to my health. I hope Allah swt will forgive me.
