On August 6, 2024, unexpected rainfall in Makkah caused technical issues during the live broadcast of the Asr prayers, resulting in a rare audio disruption.
Viewers of the Makkah Live stream experienced the prayer session without sound.
The rainfall led to technical issues that disrupted the audio for the live broadcast. As a result, both the Asr Adhan (call to prayer) and prayer were continued without audio.
During this period, the broadcast switched between two camera angles, but none of them broadcasted any sound. Instead, viewers had to rely on a recitation of the Quran to accompany the visuals.
The entirety of the Asr Salah was shown from a single camera angle, adding to the limitations of the broadcast.
