Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman are scheduled to visit the Beijing Olympics 2022, even though Muslim bodies worldwide have boycotted the event.
Next week, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan will attend the Beijing Winter Olympics opening ceremony in China.
Khan will begin a three-day visit to Beijing from February 3 upon the invitation of the Chinese government, according to the Foreign Office, on January 13.
According to the Saudi Embassy in Beijing, the Crown Prince will attend the Winter Olympics opening ceremony in Beijing on February 4.
The Saudi embassy also expressed the hope that this visit would contribute to developing the global Olympic field and Sino-Saudi comprehensive strategic relations.
The Beijing Winter Olympics will launch within one week, bringing sports into the spotlight following preparations that diplomatic boycotts and the COVID-19 pandemic have hampered.
Beijing will become the first city to host both the Summer and Winter Games, and some venues from 2008 will be re-used, including the Bird’s Nest stadium, where Zhang Yimou will oversee the opening ceremony again.
