JEDDAH: No coronavirus cases reported among 5 million Umrah pilgrims which Saudi Arabia received this year, citing Dr. Mohammed Saleh Benten, Minister of Hajj and Umrah.
Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Mohammed Saleh Benten’s statement, came during the meeting with the Governor of Makkah city Prince Khaled Al-Faisal in Jeddah.
Saudi Arabia had suspended Umrah in March and had also limited the Hajj 2020 in July, allowing no more than 1,000 pilgrims during the pandemic. After months of lockdown, on Sept. 22, the kingdom had allowed pilgrims to perform Umrah in four phases, following the strict covid-19 restrictions.
The kingom of Saudi Arabia has again suspended Umrah for 3 weeks more because of the latest coronavirus varient.
