Bangladesh Makes Coronavirus Vaccine Mandatory For Hajj Pilgrims

DHAKA: Bangladesh’s Ministry of Health has announced that all people who wish to perform this year should get the coronavirus vaccine.

The step comes after Saudi Arabia makes the coronavirus vaccine mandatory for Hajj pilgrims, makes it a major condition to perform hajj this year.

According to the media sources in Bangladesh, about 60,000 people are scheduled to perform Hajj 2021 this year from Bangladesh; over 4,000 have the ages between 18 to 40, whereas over 55,000 pilgrims are over 40 years of age.

       
   
   
   

The first shot of covid-19 vaccination would be done by march end, while the second dose will end by may end.

Bangladesh sends about 120,000 Hujjaj every year, but this year the number has been shrunk by 50 percent. The country is only sending 60,000 hajj pilgrims.
