Sunnahs of Eid

One must start their Eid day by reciting the Takbir “Allahu Akbar”

There are a few Sunnahs of Eid. These are the practices recommended by the Holy Prophet. It consists of charity, cleanliness, etc.

Below are a few Sunnahs

Giving Charity 

It is known as Sadaqah al-Fitr. It is a key Sunnah of Eid. It involves donating to those in need. This ensures they too can celebrate the festival. 

Wearing new clean clothes 

It is another Sunnah. It signifies purity and respect for the sacred day. It reflects the inner cleanliness too.

Arriving early at the prayer place

It is encouraged to demonstrate devotion in Eid Prayer. Offering Eid prayer is a Sunnah. Also going early to the prayer spot is encouraged. It allows worshippers to find a good spot.

Meeting Loved ones

It is a cherished practice. It strengthens bonds. It also fosters a sense of community. Greetings are exchanged. Good wishes are shared. It enhances the festive mood.

Bathing

It is a form of physical purification. It is a respectful preparation for standing before God in prayer.

Eid prayers

It is a communal prayer that unites the faithful in worship and gratitude.

These Sunnahs are not just rituals. They embody the spirit of Eid. It promotes generosity, cleanliness, community, and devotion.

Things to do on Eid

Eid al-Fitr is a festival day. There are various activities to do on Eid.

  1. Gather for the special Eid Prayer
  2. Exchange wishes and greetings. Share gifts 
  3. Enjoy meals and sweets
  4. Meet loved ones
  5. Give charity to the needy ones

Eid al-Fitr is more than a celebration. It is a reflection of faith. Muslims come together to celebrate this day. The Muslim community all over the world celebrates in different ways. People host Eid Milans, exchange gifts, and offer prayers.
