Dhul Hijjah is one of the most important Islamic months.

Allah Says;

According to the well-known interpretation of the Holy Quran by Ibn Kathir, “the ten nights” refers to the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah. Many prominent scholars also hold this view.

Ibn Abbas (RA) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

In the month of Dhul Hijjah, one of the main pillars of Islam, Hajj takes place, where Muslims from all across the globe gather to worship Allah. Many other deeds are also done, such as voluntary fasts and charity.

Hafidh Ibn Hajar (RA) writes in Fath al-Bari:

5. Islam Was Completed On The Day of Arafah

Allah Says:

surah al maidah 123 — Source: Surah Al Maidah, Verse 3

This day was the day of Arafah, which comes on the Ninth of Dhul Hijjah.

Abu Qatadah (RA) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

8. Say Allah’s Name Excessively

Muslims have been taught to praise the name of Allah in a special way. Known as Takbeer Tashreeq, we should recite the following after every Fardh prayer, starting from the Fajr of the 9th of Dhul Hijjah until the Asr of the 13th of Dhul Hijjah.

The people can offer a sacrificial animal on three Eid days (10th, 11th, and 12th of Dhul Hijjah).

10. Eid Al Adha

In the religion of Islam, there are two types of Eid celebration; Eid Al Fitr (afterward Ramadan) and Eid al-Adha on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah.

Let us all try to increase in Salah and the remembrance of Allah throughout these ten days, and if we are able to, we must try to fast, especially on the day of Arafah (for those who are not performing Hajj).
