Pregnancy is a beautiful journey, but it can also come with moments of worry, fear, and hope.

For many women and their families, turning to prayer offers peace of mind and a deeper sense of connection.

The Quran holds many comforting verses, and one that stands out during pregnancy is a heartfelt dua asking Allah for a pure and healthy child.

This dua, found in Surah Al-Imran (3:38), was made by Prophet Zakariya (peace be upon him) when he longed for a righteous child. Today, many people recite it during pregnancy to ask Allah for protection, health, and a blessed baby.

Dua for Safe Pregnancy

This beautiful prayer is found in the Quran in Surah Al-Imran (3:38). It goes like this:

Dua for Safe Pregnancy

This dua comes from the story of Prophet Zakariya (peace be upon him), who made this sincere prayer when he was longing for a child.

It also encourages those going through pregnancy or even struggling with fertility to stay hopeful and patient.

Many expecting mothers choose to recite this dua throughout their pregnancy. It’s a way of asking Allah not just for a baby, but for one that is healthy, pure, and good in every way—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Why is this Dua Significant?

This dua stands out because it was made by a prophet, in a moment of deep longing and sincerity.

When expecting mothers recite it, they are walking in the footsteps of someone who placed complete trust in Allah’s timing and mercy.

رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً ۖ إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ

Rabbi hab li min ladunka dhurriyyatan tayyibatan innaka samee’u’d-du’aa

“My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication.”

For anyone feeling anxious during this journey, this prayer offers a sense of calm.

How many times should you recite this dua

  • Recite this dua after every prayer (five times a day) during pregnancy for spiritual strength and comfort.
  • It can also be said any time anxiety or concern arises, especially during check-ups or when feeling unwell.

This practice can be part of a daily routine, helping build a stronger connection with Allah while preparing emotionally for motherhood.

Keep this dua close. Say it with love, with trust, and with patience. And believe that the One who hears every dua will give you exactly what you need—at the perfect time.
