The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque introduced that there will be five robot vacuums to clean and sterilize the roof of the Holy Kaaba, where one cleaning process will take 20 minutes.
As explained by the Undersecretary of the Presidency, Field Affairs and Ensuring Environmental Prevention Mohammed Bin Musleh Al-Jabiri, it operates both manually and by application, using the latest cleaning techniques.
He added that the robot vacuum takes up to four hours to charge and the battery lasts for 3 continuous hours and is able to cover an area of 180 square meters in three hours.
It is also equipped with a hybrid vacuum and mop that can work at 3 speeds and has artificial intelligence mapping technology.
Al-Jabri explained that these modern devices and technologies are operated in order to maintain the quality of the marble while still removing dirt and purifying the Kaaba and the Grand Mosque to the maximum.

It is known that the cleaning of the roof of the Holy Kabaa will be carried out by a special Saudi team and divided into several cleaning stages.
The first step is, sweeping the roof of the Kaaba surface from dust and bird droppings with wet cloths then wiping the entire surface, the Kiswah holder, the walls and the walls next to the Kaaba’s roof door from the outside. Then the entire surface will be sprayed with water and wiped once again. Then it will proceed to the drying stage and the last stage is the stage of spraying the entire surface with natural rose water.
Al-Jabri emphasized that all the employees who will help with the cleaning process have been trained and specialized to serve the Holy Mosque and its visitors.
