The leader of the group and trip organizers report that a delegation of Pakistanis met with Israeli Foreign Ministry officials in Jerusalem. The delegation included a former government minister.
According to the trip organizer, representatives from the American Muslims and Multifaith Women’s Empowerment Council and Sharaka, a US-based non-governmental organization that was established following the Abraham Accords, which the Trump administration negotiated in 2020 and normalized relations between Israel and four Arab countries, namely the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco.
As part of an interfaith harmony delegation, I am in Jerusalem.
A telephone interview with Nasim Ashraf, the delegation’s head, was conducted by The Associated Press.
He did not provide further information regarding the other members of the delegation.
Formerly, Ashraf served as Pakistan’s development minister and chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

One of the trip organizers, Anila Ali, a Pakistani-born US citizen residing in the United States, urged Pakistan to establish diplomatic relations with Israel for the country’s benefit.
Turkish leadership established diplomatic ties with Israel in their national interest, thus setting an excellent example for Pakistan.
