A Muslim woman from Jammu and Kashmir donates her Hajj saving totaling to Rs. 500,000 to Covid-19 Fund. She decided to put her money into a Nobel cause.
Khalida Begum, who is 87 years old, saved 5 lacs Indian Rupees to perform Hajj 2020, due to lockdown in Saudi Arabia, she had to change her plans, so she decided to donate all of it in Coronavirus fund. Hajj holds very high importance in the lives of Muslims.
Khalida Begum wanted to put her money to good use. She saw many people suffering from this deadly disease, so she took a bold step to donate her Hajj saving to a life-saving cause.
Khalida Begum is one of the very few women from Jammu and Kashmir who got the privilege of educating from an English medium school, even after the Muslim genocide in Kashmir. She is the daughter-in-law of Colonel Peer Mohd Khan, he is the president of Jana Sangh.
Activists have lauded her efforts and added that despite her age she stays very active in welfare work. She has also done a lot of welfare work for the women living in Indian Occupied Kashmir.
Adding more to this, her son Farooq Khan is also an adviser to Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir as well as he is also an IPS retired officer.
