Makkah Hotels are overcharging the pilgrims for the last 10 days of Ramadan. As per Saudi Arabian website, Saudi Gazette states that a three bed room is crossing SAR36,000 which is equal to $9000.
Makkah Hotels located in the centre of Makkah city is charging a huge sum of money for just few days in Ramadan as a large number of Pilgrims are arriving in Grand Mosque from different parts of the world to enjoy their ramadan, to perform umrah and to pray here.
A marketing analyst said that the hotels located in the central of Makkah are booked. The price of a double room which also includes Iftar meal is SAR 27,000 which is equal to USD 7,193.57 for the last ten days of Ramadan.
The price of a Three bed room which also includes Iftar meal is SAR 32,000 which is equal to USD 8525.72 as well as four bed room which also includes Iftar meal is SAR 36,000 which is equal to USD 9591.43 for the last ten days of Ramadan.
The price for a double bed room per night is SAR 2,000 which is equal to USD 532.86 and the price for a three bed room per night is SAR 2,600 which is equal to USD 692.71 and for a four bed rooms per night is SAR 3,100 which is equal to USD 825.93. All of these fares are for just one night stay during the last ten days of ramadan.
These fares are indeed very high, agreeing to the point that they are providing good facilities but overcharging someone who came from the other country to pray at the grand mosque which is not something very ethical. Visiting Masjid al Haram is every Muslim’s dream, but overcharging the pilgrims is something not very ethical.
And it will burden the pilgrims in future as they have to collect double the money which pilgrims collect today to visit the grand mosque.
