Ireland, Norway and Spain Recognize Palestinian State

More countries will be recognizing a Palestinian state, says the Irish Prime Minister.

Ireland, Spain, and Norway have recognized the state of Palestine, Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris confirmed in a news conference on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced that Spain will recognize the Palestinian state on Tuesday, May 22, 2024.

Following the same course, Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide also announced that Norway would recognize the Palestinian state on the same day as Spain.

After the announcement, Israel has recalled its ambassadors from Norway and Ireland.

The Palestinian Authority has lauded the decision and thanked them for their support. While Israel Foreign Minister Katz has denounced the decision.

Hossam Zomlot, the Palestinian ambassador to the UK, said a ceasefire in Gaza is the start of making a way to a solution.
