The missile was destroyed in the region home to Masjid an-Nabawi (Prophet’s Mosque), the coalition said.
The Saudi-led coalition said on Thursday that it intercepted a cruise missile in the Madinah Al-Munawwarah region, home to one of Islam’s holiest cities.
Coalition spokesman Turki al-Malki posted on X that a “cruise missile has been intercepted and destroyed in the Medina region.”
Earlier this month, the coalition said the Iran-backed Houthi group in Yemen sent a drone at a power distribution station in the holy city of Madinah Al-Munawwarah.
The station was one of the facilities that supply electricity to Masjid an-Nabawi (Prophet’s Mosque).
This is a developing story.
