Aaron Bushnell, the 25-year-old American soldier who set himself on fire in front of the Israeli embassy in Washington, had drawn up a will in advance.
Aaron who was a member of the U.S. Air Force wanted to donate his savings to go to Palestine Children’s Relief Fund. In his will he wanted his savings to be donated to a fund to support Palestinian children.
Palestine Children’s Relief Fund is a not-for-profit organization that is focused on delivering humanitarian aid and life-saving medical relief to Gaza.
A few days back Bushnell burnt himself wearing his military uniform as a protest against U.S. support for Israel.
He streamed this event live and in the video, he screamed “Free Palestine!” as the flames engulfed his body.
He also arranged for a neighbor to care for his cat after his death.
The tragic event once again sheds light on the widely shared and deep-rooted concern for the fate of children in Palestine.
It was also for that reason that Bushnell set himself on fire. As part of the US military, he no longer wanted to be complicit in the genocide in Gaza. He also explicitly mentioned the fatal child victims.
