Kuwaiti pilgrims and residents booked for Umrah are unable to travel after all flights out of Kuwait International Airport were suspended on June 3.

The closure follows an Iranian drone and missile strike on Terminal 1 that caused severe damage to the building and injured people inside. Airlines have cancelled or diverted all flights until further notice.

All Umrah Departures Halted

Flights to Jeddah and Madinah are among the services suspended. Pilgrims holding valid Umrah visas and confirmed travel packages cannot depart.

Kuwait Airways has also halted its services.

Saudi Side Remains Open

Jeddah and Madinah airports are fully operational. Saudi airspace has remained open throughout the regional crisis, with Jeddah and Madinah airports continuing to serve Umrah pilgrims and international traffic.

The disruption is limited to departures and arrivals at Kuwait International Airport.

What Pilgrims Should Do

Pilgrims with upcoming Umrah departures from Kuwait should contact their airline or travel operator directly to ask about rebooking or refund options. Those with time-sensitive Umrah visas tied to specific travel dates should seek urgent clarification from their operator, as validity may be affected by the suspension.

No official timeline for resuming flights has been given beyond the June 4 suspension deadline set by some carriers.
