Muslim Teen Mahnoor Cheema Sets Six World Records, Secures Oxford University Admission

Mahnoor Cheema, an 18-year-old British student of Pakistani heritage, has shattered six global academic records while securing admission to the University of Oxford’s medical program.

Her achievements include mastering 58 examination subjects with near-perfect distinction—a feat unmatched in secondary education history.

Cheema attained four new world records through her A-Level performance: completing 24 subjects plus an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) under one exam board; securing 19 A/A grades; achieving 45 cumulative A grades across GCSEs and A-Levels; and passing 58 total subjects with distinction.

These build upon her two prior GCSE records set in 2023 when she earned 34 A* grades at age 16.

“Receiving Oxford’s offer fulfills my childhood dream,” Cheema told from her West London home. “My parents’ sacrifices made this possible—I recognize my privileged position.”

The daughter of Lahore-born barristers Usman and Tayyaba Cheema, Mahnoor relocated to England in 2006. Her academic journey spanned Langley Grammar School, Henrietta Barnett School, and final-year homeschooling.

Beyond academics, Cheema holds an undergraduate-equivalent music diploma (AMusTCL) earned at 16, LAMDA gold medals in Acting and Public Speaking, and Mensa membership. Her 100%-scored EPQ was completed in just ten days.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and former PM Nawaz Sharif personally commended her achievements in 2023, gifting a MacBook she used for Oxford interviews. Cheema begins medical studies at Oxford this October.
