Ten Malaysian pilgrims have died during the 1446H / 2025 Hajj season, according to official updates released by Malaysia’s Pilgrims Fund Board (Tabung Haji) and religious affairs authorities.
The deaths, spanning various dates between May and early June, were primarily caused by heart-related complications, with one reported case of infection and organ failure.
The most recent case involved Abdul Malik Sudin, 62, passed away on 8 June 2025 due to a heart attack at King Abdullah Hospital in Makkah. He was a pilgrim from Maktab 90A and had just completed the wukuf ritual in Arafah, a key component of Hajj.
His funeral arrangements were managed by Tabung Haji in coordination with Saudi authorities.
Datuk Dr. Mohd Na’im Mokhtar, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), announced the update during the official Hajj 1446H Closing Ceremony, organized by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. He extended condolences to all bereaved families and prayed for mercy upon the deceased.
