The agreement was signed near Masjid al-Haram during the Makkah Joint Defence Summit by Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the agreement establishes a collective defence framework under which any armed attack against one of the three member states will be regarded as an attack against all.
