The crescent moon marking the start of Ramadan 2025 (1446H) has been sighted in Saudi Arabia, confirming that the first day of fasting will be Saturday, March 1, 2025.
The announcement, made by the Kingdom’s Supreme Court on Friday evening, February 28, 2025.
After extensive observations across the Kingdom, Saudi Arabia’s moon-sighting committee confirmed the Ramadan crescent’s visibility. Abdullah Al-Khudairi, spokesperson for the committee, stated,
“The sighting of the Ramadan moon unites Muslims globally in worship and devotion. We pray Allah grants everyone a blessed and transformative month.”
Masjid Al Haram in Mecca and Masjid An Nabawi in Medina have completed extensive preparations to accommodate millions of worshipers.
Initially due to the clouds, seeing moon was tough, as per the authority.
Taraweeh, the special nightly prayers performed during Ramadan, will commence after Isha prayers on Friday, February 28, 2025, at mosques across Saudi Arabia.
