Madinah, Saudi Arabia — A state-of-the-art canopy is currently under construction on the rooftop of the Prophet’s Mosque (Masjid an-Nabawi).
The new structure, designed to provide shade and protection from the elements, will ensure greater comfort for worshipers performing prayers on the mosque’s expansive rooftop.

The canopy, part of the mosque’s broader renovation and expansion projects, is being built to address the needs of pilgrims during extreme weather conditions, particularly the intense heat of the summer months.

The structure will feature advanced materials to block sunlight while maintaining airflow, creating a more pleasant environment for worshipers.

The rooftop of Masjid an-Nabawi is a vital prayer area, especially during peak seasons like Ramadan and Hajj, when the mosque accommodates millions of pilgrims. The new canopy will optimize the use of available space, allowing more worshipers to perform prayers in shaded areas.
Recent upgrades at Masjid an-Nabawi include expanded prayer areas, improved cooling systems, and advanced crowd management technologies.
