The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced the names of selected pilgrims to perform Hajj 2021 this year today.
The selected name of the applicants, who have been approved to perform Hajj this year has been announced by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia.
Out of more than 540,000 aspiring pilgrims, who have been applied to the ministry’s electronic track for the annual pilgrimage, there are a total of 60,000 have been chosen. This number also includes citizens and residents.
The ministry made it clear that there will be no priority for those who made early registration and that the selected pilgrims will be able to start booking and purchasing their packages at 1.p.m. on Friday.
Due to the coronavirus/Covid-19, the government only opens the registration for those wishing to perform Hajj this year to only citizens and residents living in the Kingdom.
The electronic registration gate will be closed by the ministry at 10 p.m. on Wednesday.
The ministry explained in a previous statement that the registration restriction was only a total of 60,000 pilgrims, who were only citizens and residents inside the Kingdom, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the emergence of new variants of the coronavirus that spread in various parts of the world.
The ministry stressed that those who wish to perform Hajj this year must be free from any chronic disease and within the age of 18 to 65 years.
Hajj pilgrims must be fully vaccinated against coronavirus according to the controls and mechanism following the Kingdom’s vaccination measures or taking two doses of vaccine, or those who have completed 14 days after taking the first dose or having recovered from the disease.
