A massive 155,000-ton cooling system has been dedicated to providing a comfortable environment at Masjid Al Haram in Mecca, ensuring worshipers and pilgrims can perform their rituals in comfort throughout the year.
Designed to prioritize visitor comfort, the system features high operational readiness, continuous functionality, and consistent cooling, supported by periodic maintenance and 24/7 efficiency.
The system’s extensive coverage spans the entire 1.5 million square meters of the Grand Mosque, including courtyards, walkways, and prayer areas.

It maintains a pleasant temperature range of 22-24 degrees Celsius, creating a serene atmosphere for worshipers even during peak seasons like Hajj and Ramadan.
The cooling capacity is generated by two main stations:Al-Shamiyah, with a capacity of 120,000 tons, and Ajyad, with 35,000 tons.
Together, they ensure seamless operation and reliable performance. Additionally, the system incorporates advanced air purification filters, which remove up to 95% of airborne impurities, enhancing air quality and providing a clean, refreshing environment for all visitors.
By combining advanced technology with meticulous maintenance, the system underscores Saudi Arabia’s dedication to preserving the sanctity of Islam’s holiest site while meeting the needs of millions of worshipers.
