Pilgrims and visitors can now perform their rituals in a safe and comfortably.
The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has announced the opening of designated storage facilities at two strategic locations near the Grand Mosque. These facilities are situated to the east near the Mecca Library and to the west near Gate 64.
As reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), pilgrims can access the storage service by presenting their official permits through the Nusuk mobile application.
The storage facilities are equipped to hold luggage weighing up to 7 kilograms, with loose items excluded. Each storage session is limited to a maximum of four hours, and certain items, such as valuables, prohibited goods, food, and medication, are not permitted. Pilgrims are required to retain their claim ticket to retrieve their belongings.
The authority has further revealed plans to expand this service gradually to cover all areas surrounding the Grand Mosque, ensuring greater convenience for pilgrims, according to SPA.
The project focuses on creating a comprehensive solution for storing various types of belongings. This service allows visitors to concentrate fully on their worship without the distraction of carrying personal belongings.
Previously, lockers were only available during the period of itikaaf in the twin holy mosques.
