The Madinah Municipality has initiated the construction of the first multi-storey parking facility in the central region near Masjid an-Nabawi.
The 12-floor structure will accommodate up to 400 vehicles and will operate using a fully automated smart mechanical system.
The project, valued at over 90 million riyals, spans an area of approximately 982 square meters near Bilal bin Rabah Mosque.
Designed to blend traditional urban heritage with modern architectural elements, the facility will leverage advanced Internet of Things (IoT) technology for efficient parking management.
The automated system will allow vehicles to enter and exit smoothly without manual assistance. Equipped with smart sensors, the building will identify available spaces and optimize vehicle arrangement for safety and efficiency.
This innovative approach will maximize space utilization and ease parking challenges in the bustling central area.
The project is part of a larger initiative by the municipality, which plans to construct 18 similar parking facilities in Medina, providing over 4,666 parking spaces.
