In the Asaita area of Danakil, Ethiopia, a remarkable mosque known as the Sharif Mosque has been constructed using tree branches, demonstrating the ingenuity and commitment of the local Muslim community.
Faced with limited resources, the community decided to utilize materials they could afford, creatively building the mosque from branches of old trees.

The Sharif Mosque has emerged as a powerful symbol of unity and resilience, reflecting how a community can come together to create something beautiful despite financial constraints.
More than just a spiritual center, the mosque has become a focal point for local residents, fostering a sense of collaboration and community spirit.

The mosque’s unique design and construction process serve as an inspiring example of creativity, showing that even with modest means, a determined community can achieve greatness.

The Sharif Mosque embodies faith, unity, and the extraordinary capacity to turn limited resources into a vibrant space for worship and community.

This is amazing and the most beautiful Mosque I have seen with even a minaret made from the branches of trees. It is cost effective and shows the enthusiasm and religious mindset of the community. Allah will be most happy to see this and reward them immensely. It is also an eye opener to those Muslims who complain of no money to build a Mosque. Even if they have no money Muslims should come forward to build as many Mosques as possible in each area. It is also a warning to those who collect huge donations in the name of constructing a grand Mosque or Madrasa and swindle the funds, without fear of Allah and his wrath. Hearty congratulations to the great Muslims of the area. Jazakallah Khair.
