Featuring the fictional assassin Altair Ibn La’Ahad, the game was set in the Middle East and featured missions across the Holy Land between Jerusalem, Damascus, and Acre in the late 12th century.

Assassin’s Creed is a video game franchise created by Ubisoft. The series is set in a historical fiction open world and features a third-person perspective. The games are centered on the conflict between two secret societies: the Assassins, who fight for peace with free will, and the Templars, who desire peace through control. The series has been developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft.

The first game in the series was released in 2007, while future titles are expected to be released annually. Since the release of Assassin’s Creed II in 2009, each main installment has been followed by a sequel or expansion pack set in the same year as its predecessor.

However, some spin-off titles have taken place outside this timeframe. In addition to traditional single-player campaigns featuring Desmond Miles (portrayed by Nolan North), multiplayer modes allow players to compete against other players or team up with them.

Assassin’s Creed games have received critical acclaim and commercial success worldwide, selling over 100 million copies across all platforms by June 2016 with an average score of 81/100 at Metacritic for their console releases according to various sources, including GameRankings and Metacritic.
