As one of the holiest places in Islam, the Prophet’s Mosque attracts millions of visitors every year.
To assist worshippers in finding their way after prayers and rituals, the General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques has designated each exit with a specific color.
This initiative will streamline movement, making it simpler for visitors to reach their accommodations or other destinations within the city.
In addition to the color-coded exits, the authorities have also established a dedicated childcare center in the mosque’s courtyard to provide a safe and engaging environment for children.
Operating daily from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., the center is staffed by specialists, ensuring a peaceful and secure space for young ones while their parents focus on worship.
Saudi Minister of Hajj Tawfik Rabiah shared on X, “The Children’s Hospitality Centre in the courtyards of the Prophet’s Mosque provides a secure and entertaining space with cultural content, allowing parents to enjoy peaceful moments of worship.”
In 2023, over 280 million Muslims visited the Prophet’s Mosque, which houses the revered tomb of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) at Al Rawda Al Sherifa. After completing the Umrah pilgrimage in Mecca, many Muslims continue their spiritual journey to Medina to pray at this sacred site.
Recent data reveals that more than 10 million Muslims have prayed at Al Rawda Al Sherifa this year, marking a 26% increase compared to the previous year, reflecting the growing number of pilgrims visiting the mosque.
