As part of its annual Hajj preparedness plan, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) has announced the allocation of 900 fully equipped ambulances across Makkah, Madinah, Mina, Arafat, Muzdalifah, and other key locations to provide emergency medical support for pilgrims.
These ambulances will be stationed strategically to ensure rapid access to patients in crowded or congested areas, especially during high-intensity rituals like Tawaf, Sa’i, and standing at Arafat.
The fleet includes standard, advanced life support (ALS), and intensive care unit (ICU) vehicles, along with motorbike units for fast access in tight zones.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Zahrani, Director General of SRCA in Makkah Region, stated:
“Our teams are fully prepared to serve the Guests of Allah. With 900 ambulances and trained paramedics, we aim to reach any emergency case in under 8 minutes.”
The SRCA has also set up temporary medical points at high-traffic zones such as Masjid Al-Haram, Masjid An-Nabawi, Jamarat Bridge, and main tent routes in Mina. These services are coordinated with the Ministry of Hajj and Ministry of Health to deliver seamless emergency coverage.
