Hajj 2025 (1446H) concluded on Friday with no deaths reported among the 1.67 million pilgrims who completed the five-day pilgrimage.
Prince Saud bin Mishaal, deputy emir of the Makkah Region and vice chairman of the Permanent Hajj and Umrah Committee, expressed gratitude to God for safeguarding all participants, especially during the Day of Arafat, where no security or health incidents occurred.
“We are honored by God to serve His sacred sites,” Prince Saud said, emphasizing the weight of responsibility carried by those overseeing the pilgrimage. He noted that sincerity of service is essential to maintaining safety and order throughout the Hajj seasons.
The Ministry of Health revealed on Thursday that heat exhaustion cases decreased by an impressive 90 percent compared to last year’s season.
Health officials attributed the decline to expanded shaded areas, widespread deployment of cooling units, and increased medical stations throughout the Grand Mosque and the Mina valley.
Emergency response teams were on standby 24/7, ensuring prompt attention for any pilgrims in distress.
On Friday morning, pilgrims performed the “Stoning of the Devil” ritual in Mina, marking the final major rite of Hajj.
Beginning at dawn, more than 1.6 million Muslims threw seven stones at each of the three symbolic walls, reflecting Prophet Ibrahim’s rejection of Satan’s temptation.
Muslims around the world welcomed the start of Eid al-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice. Families gathered for prayers, and communities exchanged greetings to celebrate the completion of Hajj.
