The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Masjid al Haram and Masjid Nabawi currently is working on projects for the comprehensive development of services provided in the Two Holy Mosques. This project which utilizes the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and modern technology is designed following the latest international studies and service standards.
Controlled by an automated system programmed on a pre-map, the robots provided by the General Presidency work at six levels to improve the environment and analyze cleaning, sterilization, and disinfection requirements.
The robot in charge of sterilizing and distributing zam zam water was received Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) paten.
The robot can work for 5-8 hours a day without human intervention and has a water capacity of 23.8 litres. It also contributes to eliminating bacteria in an area of 600 square meters.
We can also use modern technology in the two holy mosques when the intelligent robot that performs floor washing and disinfection operations is of high quality, which was launched last month. It is known that the robot is capable to work for 4 hours, with a coverage of 2,000 square meters per working hour.
The robot with a weight of 300 kg can accommodate water with a capacity of more than 68 litres and has a speed of 0-5 km per hour.
The robot is also equipped with cameras, ground and overhead sensors, and the feature that can read small and large objects around the robot to prevent collisions with people or objects on the ground.
The kingdom of Saudi Arabia is indeed actively advancing and utilizing advanced technology to facilitate the worship of visitors and pilgrims for Hajj and Umrah while continuing following the COVID-19 prevention and spread measures.
