Saudi Arabia will resume Umrah pilgrimages on June 11, 2025 (15 Dhul Hijjah 1446H), following the conclusion of Hajj operations.
The announcement confirms the annual pause for Hajj preparations at holy sites will end as scheduled, allowing global Muslims to resume minor pilgrimages to Makkah and Madinah.
The General Directorate of Passports confirmed Umrah visa applications will reopen through the Nusuk platform starting June 11.
Pilgrims must apply electronically via Nusuk, with requirements including proof of accommodation and valid health insurance. Priority will be given to early applicants to avoid overcrowding during peak seasons. Health protocols such as mandatory meningitis and seasonal flu vaccinations remain enforced.
The Nusuk platform will provide real-time updates on prayer space availability and crowd density alerts to enhance safety. Saudi authorities anticipate record Umrah numbers this season due to the earlier conclusion of Hajj 2025, aligned with the lunar calendar.
Officials urge pilgrims to avoid unauthorized travel agencies and finalize bookings exclusively through government-approved channels. Maintenance teams are currently refurbishing key areas around the Grand Mosque to accommodate the post-Hajj influx of Umrah visitors.
