The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has issued new guidelines suspending Umrah pilgrimages from 1 Dhul Qadah 1446 AH (April 29, 2025) until 14 Dhul Hijjah 1446 AH (June 10, 2025).
This suspension applies to citizens, residents, and holders of all visa types, with the sole exception of individuals holding valid Hajj permits, who may perform Umrah starting April 29, 2025.
This temporary halt is designed to manage pilgrim traffic and ensure a smooth, secure Hajj 2025 season by minimizing overlap between Umrah and Hajj activities.
During the suspension, no new Umrah visas will be issued, and entry for Umrah purposes will be paused for all visa categories except Hajj permit holders.
Travel operators and service providers are urged to inform their clients of these changes and help them adjust their plans accordingly. The Ministry emphasized that these measures are essential to maintain the highest standards of safety, organization, and comfort for millions of worshipers converging on the holy sites.
As preparations for Hajj 2025 continue, authorities will closely monitor the situation and provide updates as needed to ensure the success of both pilgrimage seasons.
