In the recent turn of events the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia has outlined the conditions and packages for Hajj 2024. These outlines and packages aim to ensure the safety of pilgrims during the annual pilgrimage and are for individuals who are citizens of the Saudi Kingdom.
One such outline states that the applicant for Hajj must be at least 15 years of age and must be able to perform Hajj either independently or with the help of a companion.
The Ministry has left the possibility to perform Hajj under these conditions even for those who have not done it before, as stated in the Hajj and Umrah system.
However, an exception is made for women who wish to perform Hajj with a Mahram. However, it has been stated that the Mahram must meet the same health requirements as a female pilgrim.
Health requirements include vaccination against meningitis and seasonal influenza, certified by a health certificate. It also includes a certificate issued by the doctor that indicates the individual isn’t suffering from acute chronic or infectious diseases.
A Mahram can accompany the Saudi Arabian Hajj once every five years if he is a first relative. The same applies to women living in the country who wish to perform Hajj with their Mahram so that they can perform this religious duty at certain intervals according to the guidelines.
The Ministry also released price information for four packages tailored to domestic pilgrims for the 2024 Hajj season. These packages differ in accommodation quality and location as well as transport costs. All the package prices include value-added tax (VAT) but do not include transportation costs to and from Makkah by land or air.
Transport costs are added to the two packages, depending on the mode of travel and the location of the camp. Transport costs also include travel to the holy sites of Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah either by Mashair train or bus, as well as travel to and from the meeting points.
As the Hajj application for Saudi Citizens opens, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has invited the residents to apply for Hajj 2024 via the Nusuk app or the website.
