Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, through its Center of Digital Entrepreneurship (CODE), has launched a Tech Challenge calling on entrepreneurs and innovators to build advanced digital solutions for Hajj and Umrah services.

Three Focus Areas

The challenge is built around three tracks.

  1. The first targets smart crowd management
  2. The second focuses on improving the pilgrim experience
  3. The third covers language and communication technologies.

Participants are expected to create solutions that make services more efficient, ease the pilgrims’ journey, and improve coordination between the parties involved in Hajj and Umrah operations.

What Participants Gain

Those who take part will receive support in developing their business models, direct access to entities operating in the Hajj and Umrah sector, mentorship from specialists, and technical training specific to Hajj and Umrah technologies. The program also gives participants visibility into where the sector is heading and the opportunities that lie ahead.

How the Program Works

The challenge runs in structured phases: registration and applicant selection, a business model development week, a training bootcamp, and then ongoing technical support and mentorship. After the main program concludes, a full judging day will take place and three winning projects will be selected.

The program’s targets are to reach more than 85 participants, produce over 30 working prototypes, and deliver at least 30 training and mentorship sessions.
