Since the start of 2024, the Miqat of Dhu Al-Hulayfah in Madinah has welcomed more than 10 million visitors, including pilgrims and Umrah performers heading to the Grand Mosque in Makkah.
Dhu Al-Hulayfah, one of the key Miqats for pilgrims entering Ihram, has received significant attention from the Saudi government. Recognizing the growing number of visitors, authorities have introduced a range of enhancements to improve the facilities.
Among the upgrades are 96 units for dispensing chilled drinking water and over 50 advanced air conditioning systems to ensure optimal climate control.
Additionally, more than 2,000 square meters of old carpets have been replaced with luxurious, high-quality Islamic-style carpets to provide a comfortable and serene environment for worshippers.
The surrounding courtyards have also been transformed, featuring landscaped gardens with trees and palm trees spanning an area of over 7,000 square meters.
To accommodate the increasing number of visitors, over 600 additional bus stops have been added, effectively boosting transportation capacity by 200%.
The site is further equipped with 1,200 modern, well-maintained toilets that are subject to routine maintenance.
The Saudi government’s commitment to enhancing the experience of pilgrims at Dhu Al-Hulayfah reflects its dedication to serving the guests of the Most Merciful, ensuring they can perform their rituals with ease and comfort.
