The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced the health requirements and guidelines for the upcoming Hajj. This year, pilgrims will not be required to present any kind of COVID-19 vaccination certificate, which was mandatory the previous year.
The authorities of Saudi Arabia have lifted a great number of restrictions for the 2024 Hajj season, allowing the return of Hajj back to its’ full capacity.
The Ministry of Health in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has asked pilgrims to obtain a mandatory Hajj permit via the Nusuk platform.
Mandatory Vaccinations For Hajj 2024 / 1445h
The following vaccinations are mandatory for Hajj 2024 pilgrims:
- Meningococcal meningitis: Should be administered more than 10 days before arrival.
- Polio: Need proof of vaccination which is obtained within 6 weeks before departure.
- Yellow Fever: Mandatory for travelers above the age of 9 months.
Additional Requirements
Pilgrims must also meet the following general conditions:
- Valid passport: A valid passport through at least the end of Dhu Al Hijjah 1445 (June 7, 2024).
- Minimum age: A minimum age requirement of 12 years.
- Vaccinations: Vaccinations against COVID-19, meningitis, and seasonal flu.
- Health certification: A health certification to confirm the pilgrim is free from any infectious diseases.
It is also advised by the authorities to minimize the exposure to sun and stay hydrated.
