A massive fire broke out in a mosque in Sokuluk, Kyrgyzstan, on Friday evening, as reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The blaze, which engulfed approximately 900 square meters of the mosque, required a significant emergency response to bring it under control.
The fire was first reported at 8:15 p.m., prompting four firefighting crews to immediately begin extinguishing efforts. Additional support was dispatched, including an operational group, water trucks, two Interior Ministry crews, and an ambulance team.
Firefighters battled the blaze for several hours, finally extinguishing it completely by 3:00 a.m. Thankfully, no casualties were reported in the incident.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire, and further details are expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
This incident has drawn attention to the need for enhanced fire safety measures in public and religious buildings in the region, particularly as the community begins to assess the damage and plan for rebuilding efforts.
