Riyadh (Saudi Arabia): King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud has been ranked as the most influential Muslim for the year 2023, according to The Muslim 500 list.
The list of the top 500 Muslims worldwide is released annually by a research entity, The Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre. An international Islamic non-governmental, independent institute based in Amman, the capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought.
King Salman is the custodian of the holy mosques, Masjid al-Haram and Masjid an Nabawi. He has donated $4 billion to war-torn and disaster-affected countries and protected five world heritage sites.
The Hajj was severely restricted for two years, with only 1,000 and 60,000 residents allowed to participate in the pilgrimage. A million pilgrims worldwide were able to make the journey in 2022.
Through his custodianship of the two holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, HM King Salman has a significant influence on the global Muslim community. There are 1.9 billion Muslims who make the pilgrimage to Makkah every year. The Hajj is performed by approximately 4 million pilgrims each year.
The Umrah, known as the lesser Hajj, is also performed by approximately 10 million pilgrims annually, including Saudi residents and citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council. The two mosques are currently being expanded to several billion dollars.
As head of the largest da’wa network of missionary Muslims in the world, King Salman promotes Salafi Islam. Due to the financial support of Saudi Arabia, Salafism has spread globally. Saudi Arabia itself has become a target for its violent offshoots due to its violent offshoots.
KSRelief was established in 2015 and provides humanitarian assistance to victims of civil wars and natural disasters worldwide. Over $200 million has been invested over 400 projects in over 40 countries by KSRelief.
