ISLAMABAD, 15 April 2026 — The Government of Pakistan has introduced free local SIM cards with call and internet packages for citizens traveling to Saudi Arabia for Hajj 2026.
The free sim was announced Tuesday by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony to help pilgrims stay connected throughout their journey.
Pilgrims traveling under the 40-day long package will receive 600 minutes for local and international calls plus 40GB of mobile data.
Those under the short package will get 300 minutes and 25GB of data. All allocated minutes work for both incoming and outgoing calls.
Free Connectivity Package for Pakistani Hajj Pilgrims
Ministry spokesperson Umer Butt advised pilgrims to use only the government-issued SIM. He warned that one SIM is linked to each passport, and obtaining an additional SIM may result in cancellation of the official connection.
Recharge codes and top-up services will be available at designated counters in pilgrim accommodation buildings.
The SIM cards will be distributed at official Hajj residences before departure. Pre-Hajj flights begin April 18, with all visas for approximately 120,000 selected pilgrims already issued.
Flight operations will run through May 21, covering 468 flights from Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot, and Multan to Madinah.
