Saudi Arabia has completed a full 5G network rollout across every holy site ahead of Hajj 2026, the Ministry of Media confirmed on Wednesday, 20 May 2026.

The announcement came at a government press conference where five Saudi ministries jointly presented the Kingdom’s Hajj readiness.

Complete 5G network coverage is now active across the entirety of the holy sites. This includes Masjid al-Haram (Grand Mosque), Arafat, Mina, and Muzdalifah — the four key locations where pilgrims perform the core rites of Hajj.

The Communications, Space and Technology Commission has also deployed over 10,500 Wi-Fi access points across Makkah, Madinah, and the holy sites, giving every pilgrim free, high-speed internet access without needing a local SIM card.
