MAKKAH – According to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, one of the requirements for pilgrims wishing to perform the Hajj this year is to have completed all doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

During the Hajj pilgrimage this year, the ministry of health stated that the pilgrims would also obtain the meningococcal seasonal influenza vaccine.

According to the Hajj Ministry, the pilgrim must be free from acute chronic illnesses, infectious diseases, and any other diseases that might prevent him from performing the rituals of Hajj.

The Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, has announced that after three years of restrictions to end the possible outbreak of COVID-19, the Kingdom will scrap all age requirements for pilgrims.

  1. Hi. Do we need a covid vaccine certificate to perform umrah too in Ramadan 2023? What about itikaf in makkah or medina?

      1. Do you need two doses for itikaf or is one dose sufficient? The brother has time now for only one dose before ramadan. Jzk so much for your response!
