MADINA, SAUDI ARABIA — Bir Ghars, a key historical site near the Masjid an Nabawi, has been temporarily closed for development and maintenance, the Presidency of Religious Affairs announced today.

The closure, effective immediately to upgrade infrastructure and visitor facilities at the location linked to early Islamic history.

Authorities did not specify the duration of the closure.

Bir Ghars, where the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) planted date palms, visited by pilgrims performing Ziara (religious visitation).

The Presidency urged visitors to respect barriers and follow detours to nearby alternative sites.

Maintenance teams will work around the clock to minimize disruption.
