On Thursday local time, a police official in Trilokhpuri Delhi reported that a 25-year-old Muslim man was pronounced dead after suffering blows all over his body due to being beaten by six men.
Earlier Tuesday, police received a report that a man was found unconscious lying outside Central Park in Trilokhpuri, Delhi. The man, who was later identified as Shabir Khan, was immediately taken to the Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital.
The police officer explained that there were about five injuries on his body, and the doctor declared his condition to be critical when he was referred to the GTB Hospital.
However, the poor man breathed his last on the intervening night of December 14-15. According to MLC and local investigation, the case is currently registered under sections 307 and 304 of the Indian Penal Code, and police will continue to investigate the case to bring justice to the poor man.
So far, two people suspected of being involved in this case have been arrested by the police. One of them is Keshav, a resident of Trilokhpuri, Delhi, who was identified with the help of CCTV camera footage.
In his investigation process, Keshav managed to give the police five other names of people who, along with him, had attacked Shabir on Tuesday night.
On Wednesday, the accused Keshav was presented before a Metropolitan Judge and then sent to two-day police custody remand.
Meanwhile, the police have also arrested one other person who was also persecuting the victim and is still trying to arrest several other perpetrators.
During the interrogation, it was revealed that on the day of the incident, the six perpetrators walked in the park drunk and found Shabir in the park around 3 am. They then attacked him brutally with bricks after accusing Shabir of stealing a phone, police said.
Shabir tried to fight back, but he was powerless against the brutal attacks; he then collapsed on the road.
